If it's not, go to Menu > Help > About Google Chrome and update the app. Make sure that Google Chrome is up to date. Use the Start menu to find the app quickly in Windows.
Its icon is a red, yellow, green, and blue sphere. On the right, turn off the Fade sleeping tabs toggle option. Alternatively, you can enter edge://settings/system into the address bar. In Settings, go to System > Save Resources. Pinning the tab will also prevent it from being automatically discarded, however, the pinned tab is moved to the far left which may be unacceptable behavior (particularly for those who use keyboard shortcuts to navigate through their first few tabs). Basically, my Chrome/Google tabs started to discard and I did nothing to trigger it to stop working so please update/fix this cause it's really annoying me cause Opera GX doesn't have a setting to disable Tab Discarding so please and thank you. If you don't want to disable Automatic tab discarding for all the tabs, alternatively, you also have the option to discard select tabs manually via chrome://discards. You may also want to set the "Offline Auto-Reload Mode" flag to "Disabled".
